Wales offers a varied range of hiking for visitors from the high peaks of Snowdonia and rounded mountains of the Brecon Beacons to canal towpaths and coastal walking.
There is a comprehensive network of rights of way, which mean it is relatively easy for hikers to access the countryside and hills.
The Wales Coast Path opened in 2012 and provides 1,400 kilometres (870 miles) of waymarked footpaths.
