Our ultimate plan was to walk from Valença to Fátima in 13 days rather than the suggested 17 stages

On the website, the walking of the Caminho do Norte has been split into 17 sections. For reasons of time, we chose to walk the 364-kilometre route in 13 days.

This is our 13-day itinerary:

Day 1: Valença to Ponte de Lima (36.8km)

Day 2: Ponte de Lima to Barcelos (35.9km)

Day 3: Barcelos to Giao (31.8km)

Day 4: Giao to Porto (25.4km)

Day 5: Porto to Santa Maria da Feira (28.1km)

Day 6: Santa Maria da Feira to Branca (29.5km)

Day 7: Branca to Agueda (24.9km)

Day 8: Agueda to Anadia (17.8km)

Day 9: Anadia to Coimbra (32.2km)

Day 10: Coimbra to Ameixieira (19km)

Day 11: Ameixieira to Ansião (30.7km)

Day 12: Ansião to Rio de Couras (29.8km)

Day 13: Rio de Couras to Fátima (34.2km)

On day 14, we walked the Rota de Tomar from Fátima (31km)

N.B. Distances are as routed on the Outdoor Active app beforehand, unless significantly different (and then I have linked to our tracked route). Actual recorded distances varied slightly due to us opting for more scenic detours more and more, frequent beer stops (essential in the heat) and food shopping.
